La Vieja Bodega: a celebration of fine dining

A dinner at home with a bottle of Martelo can be the perfect evening, but if you decide to head out to discover something new, La Vieja Bodega (Casalarreina, La Rioja) is the place to go. You’ll feel right at home there. Under the expert management of Ángel Pérez, La Vieja Bodega is a place to celebrate a great night out with loved ones, in a restaurant that celebrates La Rioja’s gastronomic tradition, with an added touch of haute cuisine.

In a stone-walled house with exposed wooden beams and a stunning outdoor terrace, visiting La Vieja Bodega is an experience that won’t disappoint. It’s a place where many intimate, enjoyable and surprising moments are shared. And if accompanied by a bottle of Martelo, even better.

Bear in mind, this isn’t the opinion of experts and food critics alone; La Vieja Bodega has been chosen as Spain’s sixth best restaurant on Tripadvisor, just behind some of the most illustrious names in Spanish gastronomy, such as Martin Berasategui, El Celler de Can Roca and Azurmendi.

It’s difficult to choose just one dish from the menu, so here are two suggestions: the Beef Tataki and the Slow-Cooked Egg, which comes with soup of truffled potato, bolete mushrooms and glazed pork jowl; a true delicacy. And for those who appreciate the classics, nothing compares to their seasonal vegetable stew.

At Martelo, we love places like this: perfect for sitting around the table and engaging in a little #martelism.

Bon appetit!
